HEAT ACTIVATED THERMOCHROMIC SLURRY – BLACK TO CLEAR – 29ºC
A thermochromic slurry is a semi-fluid, pigment-rich dispersion used in coatings, inks, plastics, and textiles to create materials that change color with temperature. Slurries are typically water- or solvent-based systems that suspend thermochromic microcapsules, allowing for easy mixing, application, or integration into manufacturing processes.
This heat-activated thermochromic slurry transitions from black to clear at approximately 29°C (84°F). Below the activation temperature, the material appears black, effectively masking underlying colors, text, or patterns. Once the temperature exceeds 29°C, the slurry becomes transparent, revealing what’s underneath.
This product is ideal for applications in:
Packaging and labeling (e.g., freshness indicators or tamper-evidence)
Textiles and novelty items (e.g., color-changing fabrics or toys)
Printed electronics and sensors (e.g., touch-sensitive surfaces or temperature alerts)
