Thermochromic Inks/Dyes/Slurry
SpotSee’s thermochromic and liquid crystal products are made in our Chicago-area facility, offering a range of innovative, temperature-responsive color change solutions. These products are designed to visually signal temperature variations, enhancing both functionality and user safety. Originally developed by Hallcrest – and now part of the SpotSee family
Touch-Activated Liquid Crystal Inks
These inks reveal a striking color sequence — shifting from black to red, green, and blue — when touched or rubbed. (Temperature Range: 25-30ºC / 77-86ºF).
Cold-Activated Graphics
These inks change from clear to colored when exposed to colder temperatures, adding an engaging visual effect to labels and packaging. (Activation Point: 15ºC / 59ºF).
Touch-Activated Color-Changing Inks
When touched, these inks temporarily disappear, revealing a hidden image or color underneath. (Color to Clear at 31ºC / 88ºF).
High-Temperature Thermochromic Pigments
Designed for safety applications, these pigments change color when temperatures approach the pain threshold, alerting users to potential hazards or quality issues. (Color to Clear at 47ºC / 117ºF).
Our thermochromic materials are customizable with activation points spanning from low refrigeration temperatures to high-temperature alerts. Available as pigments or liquid crystal screen inks, we can tailor colors and response ranges to fit your unique application.
